Out of favour at Manchester City, the 30-y-ear-old Argentina defender Nicolas Otamendi is set to be given an exciting lifeline according to reports coming from England and Spain.
Having only started eight Premier League matches this season, Otamendi is far from feeling happy at City. Pep Guardiola is well aware of the fact and will not stand in his player’s way.
“We would like to [keep him], but it depends on the players and the agents.”, Guardiola said.
Former Valencia defender is said to be actively searching for options this winter and The Sun claims Barcelona have come just in time with their defensive worries.
Despite having already signed Jeison Murillo on loan until the end of the season, the Catalans could make a move for Otamendi if the price is right as he would bring much needed experience and quality into the Catalan’s backline.
