Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere will become a priority signing for both Chelsea and Manchester City if the midfielder can’t negotiate a new deal at the North London club, according to the Metro.
The England international has played a sporadic role in the Arsenal first team since 2008, though he has also been out on loan to both Bolton and Bournemouth since bursting onto the scene at the tender age of 16.
Sadly for the midfielder his career has been plagued by injury and many believe that Wilshere has failed to reach the level he is truly capable of at Arsenal. At just 25-years old there is certainly still time for the talented Englishman to rejuvenate his career, and the weekend’s game against Everton marked his first Premier League appearance of this season.
A multitude of players and managers have praised Wilshere in the past and it is easy to see the talent that he possesses whenever he is on the pitch. Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus called the midfielder as ‘a perfect player’ and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger described him as having ‘Spanish technique, but an English heart.’
Whether or not Wilshere decides to remain at Arsenal remains to be seen but both Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly ready to pounce if the midfielder wants out. If he can remain fit there is little doubt that the England international will be heavily involved in the plans of whichever manager he plays under.
