Man City Prepare Summer Bid for Frankie de Jong

British media outlet Daily Mail has suggested that Manchester City are preparing a mega money bid for Ajax star Frankie de Jong.

Pep Guardiola seems to be pleased with the roster he currently has at disposal and will not be making any notable changes during the winter transfer period but the press suggests the Catalan tactician has already identified one name he would like to bolster his swquad with at the end of the season.

With Spanish midfield maestro David Silva heading into his career twilight – he will be 33 this January – Pep Guardiola wants to bring in a long-term successor of the Spanish star.

Frankie de Jong has emerged as one of the biggest midfield talents in Europe with Tottenham and Barcelona already said to be keeping close tabs on the 21-year-old.

De Jong is contracted with Ajax until 2022 but Guardiola is hopeful a rather lucrative offer worth €57 million would be enough to tempt the Dutch club to sell their prized asset at the end of the season.
